Baka, the Wisdom of the Forest
The Baka are one of the oldest forest-dwelling human groups, having lived in the Congo Basin forests of Africa for more than 50,000 years. No other group knows the forest as the Baka do: the behavior of its animals, the medicinal properties of its plants, and the delicate ecological connections among all its organisms. Using drones and other state-of-the-art filming techniques, this film presents the Baka way of life and their unique ecological and medical knowledge within a broader historical, sociological, anthropological, and biological framework.
